How do I make an appointment?

What do I need to bring to my appointment?:

Please bring any information that you have regarding your injury / condition. This could include written information or printed imaging for example xray, CT or MRI scans. Please bring links or information regarding your digital or online imaging so that this may be viewed. If you have any specific sporting requirements or equipment that may help in the demonstration of your problem feel free to bring this along too foe example running shoes, tennis racquet.

What do I need to wear to my appointment?

Wear clothing that is loose so that your injury can be examined and inspected directly. For example I would advise that you wear a pair of shorts for lower limb injuries or a singlet top for upper limb injuries. In winter you can have these under your warmer clothing.

Is there patient parking at Dr Mansour’s Rooms?

Parking is available in:

  • The Junction Village

  • Junction Fair (underground car parking for Coles)

  • 90 degree parking along Watkins St

  • On-street car parking along Kenrick St, Corlette St, Glebe Rd, Watkins St, Bar Beach Ave and in all streets around the Eastpoint Building

There is no charged/metered parking in the area. Time limits do apply. Please allow adequate time to find a car park and make your way to the Clinic.

Do I need a referral to see Dr Mansour?

Yes, you will need a referral from your GP to see Dr Mansour

Do I need to pay for my consultation at the time of my appointment?

Yes. The Orthopaedic Clinic has cashless and EFTPOS facilities. There is also the ability to pay with cash if required.

Does Dr Mansour Bulk Bill?

Dr Mansour does not bulk bill.

Will my health insurance cover my surgery/procedure?

Generally speaking, health insurance will cover a significant portion of your expenses. There is variability in what different health insurance companies will cover of the cost of your surgery. It is important you check with your insurance company regarding this in advance as some companies may cover more or less of this expense. Damian charges a gap for his procedures.

Does Dr Mansour charge a gap fee for surgery?

Yes, Dr Mansour charges a gap for surgery. This will vary depending on the procedure that you are requiring. 

Informed financial consent is fundamentally you being informed and aware of the cost involved in your surgical procedure and post-operative follow up, including any additional expenses that you may be charged in addition to what you pay for your private health insurance. These are called ‘out of pocket expenses’ or a ‘gap’.

Do you see patients that do not have private health insurance?

Yes. However, if you do not have health insurance then you will be charged at the full rate of a consultation.

Do you see Workcover and TAC patients?

Yes. Dr Mansour is happy to see work cover and TAC

Do you see Veteran Affairs (DVS) patients?

Yes Dr Mansour is happy to see Veteran Affairs patients

Do I need Xrays or MRI scan prior to my appointment?

These are useful to have. If you do not have these available Dr Mansour is happy to order specific imaging for your condition if you do not already have it. Alto specialist centre has a imaging facility in the same complex.

Does Dr Mansour treat children?

Yes. Many sports injuries occur in younger patients and Dr Mansour is happy to treat these injuries.
